- That/this: Das ist
mein Vater. Ich kann das nicht
glauben! Das hat keinen Sinn! Das macht Spaß.
- Those/these: Was sind das? Das sind meine
Kinder. (not extremely common)
- Who/that/which for neuter relative clauses: Das Hause, das du gekauft hast, ist braun.
DASS is a SUBORDINATING CONJUNTION which corresponds to:
- "that" as in "er sagt, dass..." "er glaubt, dass..." "er meint, dass..." "ich hoffe, dass..."
As a subordinating conjuction, dass is always preceded by a comma and
has a conjugated verb at the end of the clause! |
